The BF and I ventured to a popular lunch spot, Yolk, during a recent Chicago stay-cation. I had heard great things about Yolk and their three locations in the city, and was excited to check it out. We headed to the Streeterville location which is bright and airy. I loved the massive brunch bar that allows you to see right into the open kitchen and how they weave their egg-y theme into the color scheme, light fixtures, and other details.
Moving along to the food. Yolk's menu is MASSIVE. From pancakes to benedicts to omelets and sandwiches, page after page of their menu features delicious options. It seemed like most options featured one or two interesting additions to breakfast staples, which I appreciated.

After several cups of coffee (Yolk features Chicago's own Metropolis Coffee) and telling our server, "we need some more time," we both decided to get one of their ingredient-stuffed frittatas. The BF went with the Sante Fe Frittata which featured bacon, avocado, a three cheese blend, jalapenos, green onions, red potatoes and a side of salsa. This was one hearty dish and they certainly did not spare any spice!

I love Yolk but WOW is the wait long on the weekends at the River North location (maybe the others as well). Definitely worth it though. The skillets are amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt was great! Maybe try out the Streeterville location. I've heard the wait is not as long there!
